Sport Relief London Flagship Mile
Dear Parents and Carers,
Sport Relief is taking place next month, and this year there is an opportunity to run in the Olympic Park on Sunday 20th March.
It would be a wonderful experience for the school if we were able to participate in an event where so much was achieved by British athletes in the 2012 Olympics.
If your child would like to participate, we would suggest that we book the same time slot to run in; the 1.30pm may be the most suitable. A suggestion would be to head off together on the train after the 9.30am Palm Sunday mass at the church (some time between 10.30 and 11), which would allow the children to travel together, as part of the experience.
If you would like to participate please go to the website below to enter, and apply to run one of the distances; we would suggest that the 1 mile race would be manageable by all year groups. A booking sooner rather than later is advised because the slots are filling quickly.
If you enter for the 1.30 slot, you will be running with the other school participants. A family entry (2 adults and 2 children) seems the most cost-efficient option, so it may make sense for families to apply together. It would be your own choice how you fund-raise, but it is obviously all for a good cause.
It would be lovely to have as many pupils there as possible – and I would ask that our competitors wear their red school hats, so that they can be easily spotted! I will be cheering you on and I may even be wearing a red hat too!
