Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 14th July 2017

We head in to the final week of term and of the school year with much to be thankful for. It has been a very successful year, one which has brought renewed energy and success. There have been moments along the way where the journey has been rocky but with God’s grace and the support from a loyal community we can look back and feel proud of our achievements. There have been many things we can feel proud of but the recent end of term production of Joseph, winning the district netball tournament, the School Council’s visit to the Palace of Westminster, excellent SATs results and successful diocesan inspection are ones that spring to mind. We will continue to build on these successes next year. Children met their new teachers for the first time yesterday and were excited to know who would be teaching them next year. I hope that you will offer our new members of staff a warm welcome from September. You will have all received your child’s annual report this week; if you would like to discuss its content in further detail please make an appointment through the school office to speak with your child’s class teacher. We say good bye to the children of Year 6 next week. The final stage of their journey begins tonight with their leavers’ disco and concludes next week at their leavers’ mass and assembly. Please think of them during this special time in your prayers. With one week to go please remember to send your child to school in full uniform (NO TRAINERS) and a water bottle.

The Word of the Week is – FAITHFUL – If God is faithful to us in our lives; where do we show our faithfulness in return?

Joseph and The Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat – They sang, they acted, and most importantly they enjoyed themselves. What a great show from a great set of children. Two amazing performances from two very talented classes. The hours of hard work paid off and the results were there to be seen on Monday and Wednesday evening. We were very proud of the children and were amazed at their talents. Thank you for giving us such lovely memories to treasure.

New Mosaic – The children have worked with enjoyment and enthusiasm all week to create a new mosaic which captures our mission as a school perfectly. It will hang on one of the outside walls of the school for everyone to enjoy but to act as reminder that Christ is our centre and acts as our guide. Thank you Mrs Butterworth for arranging for this project to take place.

PTA News Tea Towels We have a few left! Every child currently in the school appears on them and they are good quality and attractive. The PTA will not produce them for at least another four years so it will be the only one with your child on it. £5 each or two for £8. Email ssaspta@gmail.com if you would like one. Autumn Fair Please read the Parentmail that came out earlier this week and contact us before the end of term if you can ‘own’ any of the remaining stalls. ssaspta@gmail.com

Early Arrivals – There are still a number of children who arrive at school unsupervised before 8.30am. The school takes responsibility for your child from 8.45am. It is every parent’s responsibility to make provision for their child before and after school. The school provides a Breakfast and After School Club for any parent who wishes to access it. Please make sure you keep your child safe.
