Headteacher’s Newsletter – January 20th 2017

It has been a cold week but despite the freezing temperatures there has been much to celebrate. It started with a wonderful assembly led by the children of Class 8 and finished with a beautiful mass led by the children of Year 4. Children from Years 5 and 6 took part in the Young Voices Concert at the O2 arena and the Dragon’s Apprentice are busy preparing to meet the Super Dragons at next week’s presentations. Please make sure that during the cold winter months children come to school in a warm coat that is clearly labelled with their name on. We look forward to another busy week starting on Monday with the visit of the photographer and champion sailor Sam Brearey.

DONT FORGET YOUR PE KITS FOR MONDAY CHILDREN!

The word of the week is – FOLLOW. In this Sunday’s gospel we hear how Jesus called his disciples. How do we follow Christ in our own lives? How do we show this to others?

Class 8 Assembly – The children spoke confidently about the theme of stories and parables at Monday morning’s assembly. They shared with the school and family members the importance of the writing process and read some of their favourite pieces. They also told the parable of the unforgiving servant. Thank you children for delivering a strong message to start this term’s round of assemblies.

Young Voices – A well prepared group of children took part at the O2 Arena on Wednesday evening and were escorted by a hardy group of staff. They sang with presence and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a spectacular concert at the world’s busiest music arena. They returned home very tired but high in spirit. Thank you to Miss Benjamin Daley for preparing the children and to the staff for escorting the children.
