Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 13th October 2017
After another successful school journey spent at Stackpole Outdoor Learning Centre in Pembrokeshire life returned to normal once again. The good weather meant that the school field has been used for longer than expected this year. We have recently received confirmation from St Albans City Council that the plans for the redevelopment of the school field have been approved. Please read below for further information. The boys football team enjoyed their first win of the season and both teams play again next Monday and Friday against Bowmansgreen – good luck children. teacher parent consultations take place through the mornings from Monday through Thursday next week. All appointments will take place in the school hall and we look forward to welcoming you.If for any reason you do not have an appointment, they can be made through the Parentmail system.
The word of the week is – INVITATION – In this week’s gospel Jesus uses the image of a wedding as being like the kingdom of heaven. We are all invited to be members at the wedding and to experience the kingdom of heaven on earth whether we are a sinner or a believer. How do you invite Christ in to your life and be a witness to the kingdom of heaven?
Allergies – For those children who have a packed lunch please can you make sure that there are no traces of nut or shellfish in your child’s food. Thank you for your understanding with this very important matter of health and safety.
Redevelopment of the School Field – A year after the bid was submitted to the government, we have received confirmation from St Albans City Council that the plans have been passed for the school field to be redeveloped as Multi Use Games Area. I am meeting with the contractors next week for a planning meeting and to set dates for the works to begin. Parking will be an issue during the second half of this term so please be even more mindful of where you park especially during pressured times of the day. If everything goes to plan the pitch will be ready to use from the beginning of the Spring term.
Parking – I had a meeting with Mrs Dempsey this week and one of the issues that we spoke about was the perennial problem of parking. Dropping off and collecting your child at the beginning and end of the school day can be a challenge, please can I remind you all to be very mindful of where you park and to consider our neighbours.
St Albans City Football Club – We have been given a special offer by our local football club for children who are interested in becoming a membership ticket holder for five games through the season. Please collect a flyer and an application form from the school office. Compete it and return it with £5 and you will be presented with a membership card for your child. The club are eager to build upon their partnerships with local schools and this is an excellent way of supporting them. ALL APPLICATION FORMS MUST BE RETURNED BY FRIDAY 20TH OCTOBER

I haven’t been wicked.
I’m not evil inside
I’m just a bit mischevious.
I am sorry for upsetting people
but I am also sorry for myself.
HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND!
