Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 12th May 2017

The second week in May has always been SATs week ever since they were introduced over twenty years ago. It’s a challenging time for schools but I have been very impressed with the way our Year 6 children approached the test papers. They showed a determined but relaxed approach through the week and should feel proud of their efforts. Well done children. Elsewhere this week the whole school enjoyed the benefits of skipping workshops. The children showed great dexterity and perseverance and have now been set a weekly challenge to try and improve their weekly skipping scores over a course of two minutes. Ropes can be purchased through the school office for those who wish to buy them. Work has started on the installation of the new gates at the front of the school. Workmen will be on site through the whole of next week, so please be very careful when dropping off and collecting your child. The last disco of the year takes place tonight and we look forward to welcoming the children. Please remember that children MUST leave their coats with their parents.

The word of the week is TRUST – How do you trust in God? By placing our trust in God we begin to see his love.

Skipping Workshops – It has been a few years since the school took part in this type of workshop and judging by the amount of red faces and beads of sweat that poured off the children they seemed to enjoy the experience. Everyone who took part was set a weekly challenge to try and improve the number of times they can skip in two minutes at the end of every week. Skipping is a fantastic way of keeping fit and as a school we are encouraging the children to take up this easy and fun activity. Further information about today’s workshops can be found at the link below.

Help Me Pray!

O God,

It is hard to keep my mind on my

prayers. My thoughts just run away in

a butterfly meadow of daydreams.

Bring me back to the path that will

lead me in to your presence.

HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND!
