Headteacher’s Newsletter April 7th 2017
We celebrate Palm Sunday this weekend and are reminded of the adulation Jesus received from the crowds when he entered Jerusalem days before he was to suffer and die the most painful of deaths. The emotions of Holy Week remind us all of our frailties and triumphs; something we should give praise to God for. The end of the term is upon us and we can look back and feel proud of our achievements. The diocesan inspection and subsequent report was a good way to start the term and the recent county inspection was a reminder that the school is in good shape. The children must be congratulated on their hard work and a word of thanks must be given to the staff too. May I take this opportunity of wishing you all a happy and holy Easter.
Stations of the Cross and Easter Week – Members of the Chaplaincy team led the school through the events of Holy Week at a special assembly on Friday morning. They showed great reverence and understanding of this most important of weeks before Mr Soyka led Stations of the Cross. Thank you children for preparing very meaningful assembly.
Liturgical Art Competition – Thank you to everyone who entered a piece of art work for this competition. The standard of the work was very high which made the judges’ decision very difficult but the following children were presented with an Easter Egg by way of congratulations – Will, Rachel, Orlaith T, Coco, Hudson, Mabel, Will and Eva

Easter is About…
Good Friday is about
burdens loaded on innocent shoulders
and nails hammered in to innocent hands,
a spear piecing an innocent heart
and death enshrouding an innocent life.
Easter is about
unexpected and joyful reunions
and simple meals shared with friends,
old grievances forgiven and forgotten
and angels rolling wide the way to heaven.
HAVE A GOOD EASTER!
