Headteacher’s Newsletter – 3rd March 2016
Our week started with love and finished with the challenge of keeping Lenten promises. Days have begin to lengthen and the hours of sunlight are getting longer, day by day. Spring has nearly sprung. I had the privilege of observing in Year 4 this week and was incredibly impressed with the way the children drove the learning. Their understanding of measuring, qualifying and identifying different triangles demonstrated great confidence and progress. Thank you children. We join together with the children, families and staff from the Infant School and St John Fisher on Sunday morning for 9:30am mass and look forward to celebrating as a community.
The word of the week is: LENT – What have you denied yourself to help others and yourself and grow closer to God?
Twitter – We have over 80 followers on the school Twitter feed. Please do follow us on @headaands – it is updated regularly with the latest news and events taking place in school.
Class 4 Assembly – The school was treated to a wonderful assembly on Monday morning. The theme of love permeated through the air when the children took to the stage and shared the story of St Valentine. They also reminded of the message that Jesus is love. Thank you children for helping us all to start our week in a very special and uplifting way.
Ash Wednesday Mass – The children and staff were joined by many parents, family members and a group of young babies and toddlers at mass on Wednesday morning. The children led the school in a meaningful liturgy and showed great reverence throughout mass. Fr Tom was impressed with the children’s knowledge and the way they conducted themselves throughout the celebration. It was a lovely way to begin the season of Lent.

Many thanks to Ann Moss and all helpers for ensuring this event can go ahead.

A Lenten Prayer
Help me to see this holy season of Lent
As a time of spiritual renewal,
Rather than a time of deprivation.
Motivate me to reach a new level
of experiencing your grace.
HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND!
